The Generali Insurance branch located at Jalan Brown has a beautiful and environmentally comfortable office. However, the service quality provided by the staff is highly disappointing. I visited this branch earlier this week for a Life Insurance matter. As per usual procedure, I took a queue number upon arrival (a staff member politely asked me to do so). After waiting for 50 minutes, I noticed that others were walking in and being served immediately without taking any queue number, while I continued to wait. After several people bypassed the queue, I approached a staff member (a Chinese lady) to inquire, and the response I received was, "Sorry, we didn’t know you were waiting." This lack of organization and system management is unacceptable, especially in such a well-renovated office.

Moreover, I was there to submit a policy surrender form, and the experience was equally frustrating. They requested the hard copy of the policy book, which I had never received, leaving me wondering how they expect me to return something I don’t have. The staff informed me that it is impossible to process the surrender without the policy book. This clearly shows that the staff are poorly trained and lack proper knowledge to assist customers. Additionally, Generali Insurance seems to have outdated processes, as they do not provide online options for policy surrender. Despite many insurance companies in Malaysia already implementing digital submission methods, Generali still forces customers to visit their branch in person. If they require physical presence, the least they could do is provide competent and efficient service. I will no longer be purchasing any insurance from Generali, and I will be surrendering all my policies under Generali Life.
