Everytime i visit this outlet, i try to ask for Ramson. His customer service is excellent and makes banking for me and my parents so much easier. He knows his stuff, is very patient and communicates very well. He's always been able to help us with our banking matters. Best customer service we've ever had in a bank in Malaysia.

I visited HSBC Amanah Ampang Point on 14th April 2025 after booking an online appointment to open a bank account. The branch was completely empty when I arrived. I took a queue number, and when it was called, I approached the officer and politely greeted him with “Good afternoon” and smiled. He completely ignored my greeting and asked in a cold, dismissive tone what I was there for.

When I said I wanted to open an account, the officer – a Chinese man – showed no courtesy, no smile, and zero professionalism. Instead, he questioned me repeatedly and condescendingly, asking why I wanted to open an account and demanding to know my annual salary. He emphasized multiple times that account approval is not guaranteed, implying that I wasn’t worthy of being a customer.

The entire experience felt degrading and unnecessarily hostile. I felt judged, unwelcome, and disrespected from the moment I spoke to him. There was no basic courtesy, no customer care, and certainly no interest in helping. I ended the conversation and left.

This is completely unacceptable behavior from a bank representative. HSBC, if this is how you treat potential customers, it’s no wonder your branch is empty. No one deserves to be made to feel inferior or interrogated for simply wanting to open a bank account.

To anyone considering HSBC: please reconsider. There are plenty of banks that treat people with dignity and respect.

Attitude. Thats the issue with this branch. I was flustered with the queue system and I went to counter 5 with Ramsan manning counter. I asked whether thats my number and with the attitude i shall not shame, just side-eyed me and asked whats my number. Of which he again side-eyed and asked me to “please wait”

HSBC Malaysia, pls just do something about this branch. If they do not wish to work front facing customers, move them. Better still, remove them.

Please do not waste time visiting this branch.

1. The only helpful person in this branch is the male security guard at the front
2. The person by the name Carol, please buck up and get your act together
- firstly u ask for why we are there as if we are some kind of bank robbers. Your colleague from another branch made a mistake as to what we should do that’s not our fault, we have showed u the written WhatsApp on what to do. We were told to look for you. The way u just brush us off with “go to the front to scan the qr pls” like we don’t deserve to see u yet. U are super Mario dai lou izit ? Need to beat lower monster before reaching u ?
- u chased us up to level 1 before it’s our turn yet and nobody at level 1 let us know where to go . The entire floor is dead. There’s a lady in the room but pretend like we never existed. Again the security guard this time a female saved the day. At least she is kind enough to tell us where to go.
- if u are engaging with client u should as your colleague to wait for a while , not let people keep coming in and out like we are there to serve you
3. It’s very slow , practically empty bank, only two clients before us took us a good 45 mins to settle simple stuff despite made appointment with banker.
4. Guy at the photostat machine when asked who is carol, he cannot even walk two steps to show the person, just keep saying like “walk into the door walk into the door”. Which door dai lou, got two there.

HSBC, if u are reading this, give a raise to the guards. They work the hardest.

My bank card got stuck in this branch's ATM machine from the first attemp to withdrawal money. I got my card from my country. When I went to the branch, the employees did not pay any attention to the issue, even though I told them that it would be difficult for me to get a replacement card and that my money, which I live on as a student, comes to me through this card from my father in my country. Despite all this, they did not pay any attention and insisted on destroying the bank card, even though there was nothing wrong with the card and the problem was with the branch's ATM machine. So I warn anyone from dealing with this branch or using their ATM machines, in order to protect your cards.

Despite the bad reviews, i still came to this branch on 24/12/14 for online internet banking verification, TBH the cust service was good, the guards knows whr to direct, i was attended by a filipino male staff (based on english accent) in cubicle 5. Informative guy and my task was done in about 30min. Yes they are lacking staff but they are trying their best. 👍🏻

I beg you, don't go there. I lost my wallet and I asked them to stop my bank card and get a new one, but he asked me if I had informed the police. I said yes, so he asked for a report. I told him I don't have it now. Can you stop the card first? He did not agree. I left feeling very upset, so I went to the bank next to them. I will not mention its name, but its behavior was more than wonderful, smooth, and cooperative.

The bankers seated upstairs were unprofessional and inattentive. When I arrived, no one acknowledged me, and many were occupied with their phones. Their behavior was disappointing and disrespectful.
