“When I grow up, I will buy a Porsche.”
This sentiment is one that resonates with many young boys and remains a lifelong aspiration for countless men.

In 2023, I fulfilled that dream by purchasing my first Porsche—a Taycan. Regrettably, what was meant to be a milestone of joy quickly turned into a prolonged disappointment.

Year One:
The vehicle exhibited multiple technical issues from the outset. These included a malfunctioning charging port that would not close, persistent problems with the window motor, and a screen that frequently failed to power on. These recurring faults significantly impacted the user experience and raised concerns about the vehicle’s reliability.

Year Two:
The battery’s performance began to deteriorate noticeably. Initially, a full charge provided a driving range of 398 km. This has since declined to approximately 310 km. Despite numerous reports to the service department, the issue remained unresolved. It was only this year that a battery test was conducted, which concluded a 15% degradation. However, this result does not align with the substantial drop in range, and the service team was unable to offer a satisfactory explanation.

Recent Developments:
Last week, the range further declined to just 292 km. I attempted to contact the service manager directly, but my calls went unanswered and unreturned—adding to the frustration.

Personal Reflections:
Based on my experience, I would advise caution to anyone considering the purchase of a Porsche electric vehicle at this time. It appears that not only is the product itself not fully refined, but the supporting service infrastructure is also lacking. In contrast, brands such as Volvo and BYD seem to offer more stable battery performance and a higher standard of customer service, as confirmed by discussions with other EV owners.

I had initially planned to purchase a Macan for my wife, but given the circumstances, Porsche is no longer a brand I would consider.

I visited Porsche Danga Bay JB where I was attended by Mr Shan Sivarajah, he was very courteous and helpful to my enquiries, and explained to me the pros and cons of each model, the pricing and financing options, and the strategy in reserving and obtaining a Porsche. Keep up the good work Shan! 👏👍

recently visited the Porsche Center and had an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in. They were professional, knowledgeable, and eager to assist with all my questions, ensuring I had a smooth and enjoyable visit.

The environment was equally impressive—modern, clean, and well-maintained, perfectly reflecting the luxury and sophistication of the Porsche brand. The lounge area was comfortable, offering a great place to relax while waiting.
